The Herbal Blend
1 part kelp powder
1 part wheat grass powder
1 part barley grass powder
1/2 part spirulina powder
I know I have labeled this herbal blend as a blood builder because that was the original intent when I put together these herbs, but the true name should be Body Builder Blend. The greens in this blend have such a large spectrum of nutrients and minerals they will feed any part of the body that is "hungry" for the correct nutrients in order to cleanse, strengthen and build. Remember that most ailments are caused because the body is out of balance, meaning certain parts are not getting the correct nutrients or they are overburdened with toxins. Along with a clean diet this blend will give your body the nutrients it needs to first cleanse the toxins, then to strengthen weakened areas or rebuild cells and tissue altogether. The added dandelion root has a high concentration of assimilable iron, calcium, potassium and other minerals to build the blood, making this a perfect food for pregnancy, anemia, and other blood conditions. This blend also works great as a daily vitamin supplement to keep an already healthy body at its best.
The Herbal Blend
1 part dandelion root powder
1 part kelp powder 1 part wheat grass powder 1 part barley grass powder 1/2 part spirulina powder How To Use
Mix together the herbs and then use them in powder form to add in smoothies or to make into a green drink. You can also make this blend into herbal capsules like I have done, a tincture, glycerite or any of the herbal methods listed on my herb page. For capsules I have found that 2 capsules with each meal is a good place to start and then depending on your body you can add more if needed.

This is a super simple formula by Dr. Christopher to support the lymph system of the body. The lymph system is made of lymphatic vessels, lymph nodes (many refer to as glands) and lymphoid organs which include the tonsils, thymus, spleen, Peyer's patches (located in the intestine) and the appendix. The lymphs are an important part of the immune system so keeping them cleansed and nourished means they are working at 100% for your body by getting rid of invaders such as viruses and bacteria. Having a clean diet (no sugar, processed foods and not overloading on the meat and diary) along with exercise should keep these organs in top shape.
If the body accumulates too much waste the nodes can become congested and infected which results in swollen glands, thyroid malfunction and other illness in the body. If this does happen check the first two items above; diet and exercise, then incorporate this formula which I have used successfully for swollen glands in the throat and respiratory conditions such as bronchitis. You could also use it for breast infection/mastitis/clogged milk ducts, tonsillitis, any swollen glands (under arms, breast, groin) and thyroid conditions to name a few. The Recipe
3 parts mullein
1 part lobelia
I like to blend my mullein leaves before adding with the lobelia. Keep in an airtight container until ready to use. This can be made as a tea to drink or used as a fomentation, in tincture, herbal capsules, herbal oil or even as a salve. When treating swollen glands or lung conditions it is best used as a fomentation. I like to place a hot water bottle over the fomentation and keep on as long as it stays warm. After taking off the fomentation I rub in some herbal oil or salve.
Where to get the herbs
I have been trying to grow mullein in my herb garden but have not yet had success, I can however find this by foraging in our beautiful Utah mountains. Not up for foraging or growing then you can find high quality, organic herbs Dr. Christopher's Herb Shop, Mountain Rose Herbs or Bulk Herb Store. If you would like to purchase this formula pre-blended in bulk or in capsules, oil or ointment they can all be purchased at Dr. Christopher's Herb Shop.
For more information about the lymph nodes/glands and conditions that can result from accumulation of waste in them and how to treat them you can go the the Herbal Legacy page about "Glands".
I use herbal pillows around here for many different purposes, one of those is for a sleep aid. Last year Little Man was having a hard time falling asleep and was having consistent nightmares. I made him one of these "Dream Pillows" to aid his little body in resting. It worked great for him and after a couple of weeks he didn't seem to need it as much. You can use any type of herbs you want in these but I felt inspired to use this "Sweet Dreams" combination for him specifically. I loved the scent so much I've also used it as one of my laundry pillows in the dryer and because of the herbs it also makes a good Boo Boo Bag, headache pack and linen closet refresher.
Sweet Dreams Herbal Blend
2 parts lavender
3 parts chamomile 3 parts lemon balm 2 parts lemon peel Optional essential oils for Dream Pillow: 2 drops vetiver 3 drops spearmint
Blend the herbs together and keep in an airtight container. This blend can be used to fill an herbal pillow (instructions here), make a tincture or glycerite, a calming herbal tea before bed or even as a compress eitherhot or cold placed over the forehead.
For an herbal dream pillow you can add the essential oils to a cotton pad and place in the pillow before sewing closed or you can drop the essential oil directly on the pillow. The dream pillow can be tucked inside the pillow case, cuddled up to like a stuffed animal or the new trick Little Man showed me - rub the dream pillow over your sleeping pillow and "wa-bam" your entire pillow becomes an herbal pillow. Keep stored in a plastic bag in between uses to keep the herbs fresh.
Where to get ingredients
I have grown and dried my herbs and the lemon peel I just zest from my lemons and dry. You can also purchase high quality, organic herbs, including the lemon peel from Dr. Christopher's Herb Shop, Mountain Rose Herbs or Bulk Herb Store.
