Herbal Preparations: How to Use Your Herbs
My Favorite Herb Books
I co-wrote these two books with an herbalist friend, Kathy Wilson. Because we feel so strongly that others should have the knowledge of herbs to be self-reliant, we off them to you as free PDF files. Kathy is also offering her Herbs to Know for First Aid as a free PDF file as well. We hope you will be able to use these free resources to further your knowledge of God's Medicine.

My Favorite Place to Order Herbs & Herbal Remedies
I believe the best medicine is what you can grow, forage and create in your own community. I also realize this is not always possible and so these are my favorite places to order herbs and remedies. Make sure the company your choose to purchase from follows the organic and ethical practices.
Become a Master Herbalist/Herbal Education
I believe the best herbal education you can have is praying to God for direction, reading many books, keeping a journal of your studies and then putting that learning into action by preparing and using herbs. If you feel the pull to actually have a certificate in hand as I did, there are many online schools. I started out with The School of Natural Healing which had a great Family Herbalist Course (initial course), but after moving onto the nutrition course I didn't feel good about moving forward with this school. I was directed by the spirit to just wait and continue studying on my own. A year later I found Trinity School of Natural Health and that is where I received my Master Herbalist certificate. There is a lot of light with this school, although there were a couple books I felt were outdated, complicated, and/or no longer relevant today, but overall the information I learned was very helpful. I have also taken some courses from the Herbal Academy. These are all online where you can download the course information and watch videos. I loved the visuals, handouts and recipes but some lessons teeter on the evolutionary side of things, which I don't believe in. I continue learning each week from my library of resources, one herb at a time. Education is a lifetime endeavor.
This was my path to herbal education and each person will have a different experience so I have listed some different online sources for herbal education. I love Rosemary Gladstar's books, in fact her Medicinal Herbs book was the first herbal book I purchased and still think is the best beginners book out there. For this reason I have included her online course in my suggestions but I have not taken the course and so I don't know about the content. My only concern would be different spiritual beliefs, as for that I am always open to hearing others beliefs while still holding true to my own.
I don't agree with everything I read so I always use my gift of discernment to interpret truth. I know that as you pray and seek direction for your own herbal path the Lord will bless you with the spirit to interpret truth as well. May God be with you on your journey of learning!
