I already mentioned this cloth in the cleaning with no chemicals post but it is so awesome I will mention it again, after all it is my #1 multi-purpose cleaner. This is a micro-fiber cloth that grabs dirt, grime, bacteria, grease and germs, holds onto them in the fibers while the silver woven through the cloth kills the bacteria. Just get it wet, wring it out and go to town cleaning. After using, rinse, wring and hang to dry. I only have to wash this once a week.
Stuff a jar with citrus peels and if you have some in your garden or cupboard, herbs. I love thyme and lavender as disinfectants. Cover with vinegar and let sit for about 2 weeks then shake and strain. I like to add some of my bacteria busting essential oils to the strained solution because I love adding essential oils to everything I make.
Use 1 part vinegar infusion/1 part water, store in a spray bottle. You can use this solution for multi-purpose cleaning, as a fruit and veggie wash, and a mold and mildew killer. I have also used this undiluted for killing weeds, just spray on the weeds on a calm, sunny day.
1 1/3 cup water
2 Tbsp. citric acid
10 drops lemon (or essential oils of choice)
5 drops lime
Stir until dissolved, place in a spray bottle.
This solution is also great as a veggie wash, mold and mildew killer, and as a stain remover. Just spray on stain and let sit 15 minutes then scrub with a Norwex enviro cloth, if you have one or a regular cloth.
Fill an 8 oz. bottle with distilled water
Add 40 drops of one of the bacteria busting essential oils
Shake and spray.
This solution works best for floors as the citric acid and citrus vinegar can leave a little residue from the fruit content, but I have used them all on my floors. This is also the easiest version and quite honestly what I use most. I will switch up what oils I use each batch to give a variety of scents and depending on the season. I love to use my immune boosting essential oil blend due to its cinnamon/clove smell and I know it is disinfecting while also supporting the immune systems of all who inhale it.
