Happy Independence Day! Our family starts every fourth of July with a flag raising ceremony put on by an awesome patriotic family.
The Eagle Scouts posted the colors, we recited the Pledge of Allegiance and heard a beautiful rendition of the Star Spangled Banner.
These darling little ones sang a song about the flag and then there were trivia questions about our country with prizes. My big man answered one of the questions and got a patriotic hacky sack.
A young barbershop quartet sang some songs for our entertainment.
| This man spoke of the many fights for freedom we have had from our founding up until now and how we must continue to fight for the freedom many have sacrificed for us to enjoy. The ceremony ended with this choir singing the military songs while the veterans stood for their respective group (Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force). |
