Harvest season is not just a time for harvesting plants but also the seeds to plant next years garden with. Here is a fun, simple and quick project to make your own cute seed packets to store all those seeds in until spring. But first let me guide you to these really great posts from The Welcoming House on how to save your seeds from your garden.

Take apart a used seed packet carefully, so as not to rip the edges. Trace onto a paper design of your choice. I also traced this on a white piece of cardstock to keep as my future template, just be sure to mark the fold lines on your template.
Cut it out and then place the used seed packet over the top so you can see where the folding lines are. I folded the entire seed packet up with my paper underneath then pulled mine out when all the sides were folded.
Use a good adhesive to adhere the bottom and sides together, leaving the top open. Label what the seed is, along with the garden season you are saving it from.
Fill the packet with your seeds and tape the top flap down. Store in a dry, dark, cool location until spring when they will be ready for planting.

Oh woe! You have reminded me. I had a lovely collection of seeds! Some were third generation seeds. But a few weeks back I went out to start on my spring planting and I discovered a mouse had eaten them all!! EVERY single ONE!! Man! I HATE mice!!!

Funny you should mention your seeds being eaten my mice because when I was drying my heirloom zucchini seeds I noticed little holes drilled right through them. What the heck! Then I noticed a caterpillar that had blended in with them that was nice and fat, where'd he come from?
